April – Spring Lime BBQ & Sports Day: Sun, Smoke & Smiles

When spring arrives, we fire up the grill and hit the field! The annual Spring Lime BBQ & Sports Day is all about food, fun, and fellowship. Families gather for friendly games, dominoes, and mouth-watering Caribbean barbecue — from jerk chicken to roasted corn. It’s a day that captures the heart of Vincentian culture: simple joys, laughter, and togetherness. Whether you’re competing, cheering, or just enjoying the music and sunshine, this event reminds us of the pure joy of community.

July – Carnival Dance: Feel the Rhythm of the Islands

The Carnival Dance is where the energy of the Caribbean truly comes alive! Featuring pulsating soca beats, colorful attire, and the spirit of Vincy Mas, this annual event celebrates freedom, creativity, and unity. It’s a night to dance, reconnect, and experience the magic of Carnival right here in BC. What makes it special? The authenticity — the real Vincy rhythms, the genuine warmth, and the unmistakable feeling of home, wherever you come from.

August – Member Appreciation: Celebrating Our Community

August is all about you,  our members and supporters who keep the SVGSBC strong and vibrant. The Member Appreciation event is a heartfelt “thank you” for your dedication and love. Expect good food, good music, and great company as we celebrate the people who make our Society what it is: a family. This event reflects the heart of the Vincentian spirit,  gratitude, unity, and the joy of giving back to one another.

​October – Independence Celebration: Proudly Vincy!

Every October, the SVGSBC gathers to celebrate the independence of St. Vincent and the Grenadines  a time to honor our roots, resilience, and national pride. The event brings Vincentians and friends together for an evening filled with vibrant cultural performances, delicious local dishes, and heartfelt tributes to our homeland. More than just a party, it’s a moment to reflect on how far our small yet mighty nation has come  and how our community in BC continues to carry the Vincy spirit forward with pride and unity.

December – Members’ Potluck Christmas Dinner: A Taste of Home

The Members’ Potluck Christmas Dinner is a cherished tradition where everyone brings a favorite dish and a generous heart. It’s not about formality it’s about family. Tables overflow with homemade Vincentian specialties like callaloo soup, roasted breadfruit, and coconut tarts, while carols and laughter fill the room. This cozy, heartfelt gathering embodies the Society’s village spirit  warm, inclusive, and full of love. It’s the perfect way to close the year and celebrate the bonds that make our community feel like home.
