About Us
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
Founded in 1995, the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Cultural Society of British Columbia (SVGCSBC) began as a small community group dedicated to celebrating Vincentian culture, identity, and togetherness in Greater Vancouver. Over the years, the organization has grown from hosting social gatherings and Independence celebrations to becoming a structured cultural and community development society. Today, SVGCSBC supports youth engagement, educational programs, community service initiatives, and charitable partnerships—including past fundraising for St. Benedict’s Day Nursery & Orphanage. With an active online presence, monthly meetings, and collaborations across the Caribbean and local nonprofit sector, the Society continues to preserve heritage while strengthening the Vincentian diaspora in British Columbia.

Our Story
Our story began in 1995, when a small group of Vincentians living in Greater Vancouver came together to create a space where culture, tradition, and community could thrive far from home. What started as gatherings, Independence galas, and social celebrations has evolved into the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Cultural Society of British Columbia. As our community grew, so did our mission—expanding into youth programs, cultural education, and meaningful outreach, including notable charity efforts like supporting St. Benedict’s Day Nursery & Orphanage in 2011. Today, with an active online presence and strong partnerships in the Caribbean and local nonprofit network, we continue to honour our heritage, support our youth, and build a vibrant Vincentian presence across British Columbia.
